Leonardo DiCaprio is an acclaimed American actor and movie producer who rose to international fame after his performance in the 1997 movie, Titanic. Born as Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio, he is the son of Irmelin, a legal secretary and George DiCaprio, an underground comic artist. His mother is a German while his father is of Italian and German descent. He started as a television artist in the children’s series Romper room. By the early 1990s, he was acting regularly on television. He worked hard and gained the attention of the right people and started getting movie offers as well. He made his film debut in the low-budget horror movie Critters 3(1991). He gained worldwide fame with James Cameron’s movie Titanic and considerably increased his female fan –following.
