Web series are certainly an escape from our gruesome fast-paced life schedules, they help in releasing the stress which is needed by all of us at this point of the year.
We have stacked up 7 upcoming web series to look out for in 2020 and give ourselves a well-deserved break!
1. Family Man 2 (Amazon Prime Video):
Release: October 2020
Star Cast: Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni
The Family Man became one of the most successful shows of 2019. The show is returning with its second season with a promising plot. Manoj Bajpayee’s character will be battling with more travails and straining to balance out his personal and professional life.
2. Dilli (Amazon Prime Video):
Release: October 2020
Star Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover
Saif Ali Khan is ready to hit the online platforms again after his hit shows Sacred Games; though the title is tentative, yet this upcoming show has already set up a lot of heat and has been talked about all over the social media platforms. 3. The Haunting of Bly Manor (Netflix):
Release: By the end of 2020
Star Cast: Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel
The series will be picking up from the ending of supernatural American Horror Drama called, “The Hunting of Hill House”. The Haunting of Bly Manor will be based and move around the plot of “The Turn of the Screw” (1898, created by Henry James). Mike Flanagan (creator of Season 2-The Haunting of Bly Manor) remarked that the crew is looking through the stunts fabricated by James, yet it will be a greater deal.
4. Aarya2 (Disney+Hotstar):
Release: End of 2020
Star Cast: Sushmita Sen, Ankur Bhatia, Sikandar Kher
With the first season releasing in early 2020, former Miss Universe and entertainer Sushmita Sen; is set to release the second season by the end of the same year. Season 1 was based on a Dutch web series where the single mother is cleaning up the mess created by her husband after he deceased. Not much has been revealed about the plot for season 2, but the creators have promised, the thrill and entertainment will be maintained.
5. Mirzapur S2 (Amazon Prime Video):
Release: November 2020
Star Cast: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Duggal
Mirzapur dialogues have gained huge popularity among the fans.The much-awaited season 2 of Mirzapur is set to release in November 2020. It will pick up from where season 1 left off. Fans are enthralled and waiting eagerly for the evolution of the story further, the show will revolve around everyday crime and drugs cases in Mirzapur, loosely based on real-life characters.
6. Made in Heaven 2 (Amazon Prime Video):
Release: December 2020 (tentative)
Star Cast: Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, and Arjun Mathur
With the ultimate success of Season 1, co-created by Zoya Akhtar, Season 2 of Made in Heaven is set to hit the web in December 2020. The previous season revolved around two business partners and the different set of weddings they planned. The show is about hurdling the stereotypes and breaking societal norms. Season 2 will take the entertainment and teachings forward.
7. Flesh (Eros Now):
Release: August 2020
Star Cast: Swara Bhasker, Akshay Oberoi, Kavin Dave
Flesh is a mini crime drama tv series streaming on Eros Now. With Swara Bhasker in the lead role, she will be playing an action hero for the first time. The show is filled with action and plots two women who are stuck in the web of sex and human trafficking in the Indian Trafficking Industry. Flesh will raise many questions and impose the audience to discuss the topics that are generally swept under the carpet in India.
