He teaches to enjoy every moment of life. As life can be unpredictable at times, one moment you would be enjoying your morning coffee and the next moment you would be stuck in a severe condition. The other side character Sweetu, motivates to keep your heart open to new experiences and people. You’d be surprised how better it is like that. This movie broke my heart. To the point it actually hurt .

2- 3 Idiots

It’s one of the finest films ever made on students. Being 3 Idiots a comedy film, you can derive motivation from it. The movie is about 3 college friends who don’t let it’s more serious theme of “self-actualisation” get in the way of the entertainment. It is critique on educational system. It motivates the low graders that the place away from the classroom can also be a platform to learn. The movie encourages us to believe in ourselves, it opens many doors for opportunities to strive. Also, saw some brilliant present-flash back sequences.
3- Dear Zindagi
Year: 2016
Cast: Shahrukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ali Zafar and many more
A pure-hearted film made for teenagers. Watched it a year back and it just dragged me off my foot. It is Gauri Shinde’s film at its own pace but stuns us with its life lessons. The movie is about a girl Kaira who contacts Dr. Jahangir Khan, a psychologist, who uses unconventional methods to treat her. The film teaches us to treasure good memories, to love and not be hard on oneself, it is better to express emotions, etc. If I say more, it would be a spoiler. So watch this movie and see how beautiful it is.
4– Taare Zameen Par
Year: 2007
Cast: Darsheel Safary, Aamir Khan, Tisca Chopra
I’ve seen a lot of movies and none influenced me as much as this one. The movie based on the story of a dyslexic boy has triggered action that would change the parent-child relationship in India. This movie sets the guidelines for parents and teachers. Also, comparing is not a good way to inspire a child. And, life can inculcate the value of the passion you want to carry. This movie never fails to amaze me. Just go and watch and see how the relationship of the boy and his teacher is as beautiful as it can get.
5- Maanjhi- The Mountain Man
Year: 2015
Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Tigmanshu Dhulia
A pure masterpiece which shows the torture faced due to caste discrimination. Somehow and somewhere, caste deteriorates the status of women in society. The movie opposes all kinds of injustice underwent due to this. It motivated you to battle against this prejudice. The movie helmed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui is worthy of being watched.
6- O My God
Year: 2012
Cast: Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty
Movies like O My God comes up once in a while. The movie pits an atheist versus God. It manages to tell a story from the atheist point of view. It critiques statue worship. This thing is clearly shown in OMG, which is freaking fantastic. God is omnipresent and stays in one’s heart every time. The movie is not about preventing people to believe in God, it is about believing in God itself. Definitely, an incredible view. OMG is an exception from the other films.
7- Queen
Year: 2013
Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Mish Boyko, Lisa Haydon
This movie swoons the audience. The movie is not about Rani’s journey of discovering a new self. It urges to disconnect the patriarchy prevailing in the society. It’s about women to have the right to make choices and doing what she feels right. Taking challenges, giving no hoot to conventions, maintaining self-esteem should be a priority to women. Watch this movie so you can meet yourself.
A blockbuster!
8- English Vinglish
Year: 2012
Cast: Sri Devi, Adil Hussain and many more
It cannot emphasis enough on how important this movie is. This movie will make you think about what you deserve. The movie puts up such a strong point on injustice against women. It is about a housewife who is continuously humiliated by her family for not knowing English. Throughout the movie, she emphasis on discovering herself and reasserts her value as a mother and a wife. And I cannot emphasis how beautiful Sri Devi was in this one.
9- Neerja
Year: 2016
Cast: Sonam K Ahuja, Shabana Azmi, Jim sarbh
It is a good movie. The ending had me thinking for at least half an hour. It is so worth it. It is portrayed nicely, as simple as one can put it. Sonam Kapoor fills us with the same emotions that she might be feeling-fear, responsibility, confusion and yearning. The movie motivates one to become a real person with strengths and weaknesses and to consider duty above everything. It is a biography to give a tribute to Neerja, a flight attendant. You feel actually connected.
