Many icons, including MGR and Kamal Hassan, have tried to reproduce the masterpiece on screen, but it required a visionary of Mani Ratnam’s stature to eventually bring the concept to perfection. The master filmmaker weaves his magic wand to produce an incredibly pleasant period extravaganza, albeit with its fair share of minor bumps and imperfections, supported by an ensemble cast and an amazing technical staff. The good part about this movie is one does not have to have read the book to enjoy it!

The plot’s setup is well-thought-out, the character introductions are eye-catching enough to stand out, and the film only grows larger, bolder, and better as it goes along, according to S. S. Rajamouli, who also wrote and directed the movie.
