Being a good listener is one of the essential qualities of a good physician. Make

sure you attentively and calmly listen to the patient’s description of their

● Confidence

As someone dealing with people’s health, believing in oneself and being

confident in your understanding of the human body is an excellent quality to

Communicating the patient’s predicament to them or their relatives in an

understandable, clear and concise way is one of the best qualities a doctor can

have. Sometimes there might even be instances where you will need to

carefully and tactfully extract information from a hysteric or differently-abled

patient; soft skills will help you navigate through such situations.

● Stress management

Being a physician, you will have to deal with gore, witness death, long work

hours and more. So, to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed daily, not

having good stress management skills will not do.
