Koffee with Karan is an Indian talk. The show is hosted by filmmaker and television personality Karan Johar and produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital content division of his production company, Dharma productions. The show was first aired on 19th November 2004 and has aired 7 seasons till now. Season 1-6 has been telecasted on star world India, but this year in 2022, it moved over to Disney plus Hotstar. It is the second longest-running talk show in Indian Hindi and one of the most-watched Indian English-language television shows.
The show gained massive popularity because of its gossip & controversial statements by Bollywood star on the show. It also won an Indian television Academy Award in 2007 for best talk show, and Karan Johar won for the best talk show anchor. This year, the show has aired its 7th season of 13 episodes and has gained the attention of many viewers due to its controversial revelations and confessions. Akshay Kumar on joining the film industry:
On Koffee with Karan, Akshay Kumar reveals that he joined the film industry because its high pay. He recalled working as a martial arts teacher where he was earning Rs.5000 per month. But when he got a chance to do an advertisement shoot he got Paid Rs.21000 for just two hours of work. He said that was when he decided to join the film industry.
