Everything You Should Know About Winter Parliament Session 2021

Last session (winter session) of our parliament has just commenced on 29th November, Monday. Our existing government has much put-up plans for this winter session that anvils 26 new bills along with legislative business. As stated by Anurag Thakur Minister of Information and Broadcasting, urgency has been given to bill dealing with repealing three farm laws in this winter session.

Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) led government has made this obvious that farm laws will be done up on the very first day. Other agendas of government for this session deals will Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill and Cryptocurrency. In an all-party meeting set up by Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. In similar way Malikarjun Kharje opposition party leader in Rajya Sabha was seen to gather on 29th November to discuss the issues raised in the Parliament. As per plans opposition leaders planned to meet one hour before the session begun to concrete their house approach and to draw attention to the failure of Centre on farm laws, inflation and other issues relating to industry and business.

After the session of Parliament was over meeting of BAC (Business Advisory Committee) was planned specially at Parliament Annexe. Our honourable Chairman of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu had also called for a meeting of the floor leaders.

Parliament on the very first day of winter session moved the three farm laws repeal bill 2021 after union cabinet passed it earlier the previous week on 24th November. Narendra Tomar, Agriculture Minister placed the repeal bill 2021 in the house and bill was passed by Lok Sabha. Adhiraj Ranjan Chaudhary who is a congress leader insisted a discussion but was not granted by Speaker Om Birla. Even the Trinamool Congress party wanted to consider the repeal of farm laws as stated by TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee but no chance is being given to opposition party on behalf of farmers. As our government do not want to emphasize the plight of farmers and face off any more humiliation.

Farmers show no allegiance in our current government as PM has already requested farmers to return to their homes while addressing to the nation on Guru Purab.

Farmers seeking hiked compensation for lands acquired, they are protesting outside Noida authority from past 2 months. We witness serious trust issues with the state government as the Farmer officials makes it clear that they don’t trust the Noida authority as they constantly change their stand. To which farmers have denied vacating the place and seek a statue which guarantees a minimum support price for their production.

The ongoing session is scheduled to conclude on 23rd December,2021 and repeal farm law is on high priority. Hence looking to resolve all the issues.
