Hanuman ji is an important deity in Ramayana. He is known as the monkey god in Hinduism, who is a devoted follower of Lord Rama. He is known for his power and courage. People worship him to seek protection and strength. Throughout the world, especially in India numerous temples have been dedicated to Lord Hanuman. One of the most remarkable temples of him are in Ayodhya, Varanasi, Tamil Nadu etc.

It is believed that there are still traces of his physical presence from the past, especially in the form of giant footprints. 2. Andhra Pradesh

Lepakshi Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh is believed to have a footprint of Lord Hanuman. According to Ramayana, it is also the place where Lord Rama came across Jatayu. Another legend points out that when Lord Hanuman came to Lepakshi to find Sita, during his landing he left a huge footprint there. Many devotees visit and worship this temple.

3. Sri Lanka

It is believed that lord Hanuman’s footprints are there in Seetha Amman Temple, Sri Lanka. Near the temple there are huge stones that are believed to carry the footprints of the deity.  According to Ramayana, this the where Sita was held captive by Ravana and used to pray for rescue. 4. Malaysia

Another notable site where one can find footprints of the deity is The Hanuman Garhi Temple, Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the most important temples that is home to Lord Hanuman. Many devotes visit the temple over the year especially during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti,to seek the blessings of the deity. Ayodhya is home to one of the most important sites related to Ramayana like Ramkot, Kanak Bhavan, Ram Janmabhoomi, etc.

7. Madhya Pradesh

Chitrakoot is a place on the border of both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which is known for important sites related to Ramayana. It is believed that Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita spent few years of their exile at this place. Hanuman Dhara is a river situated near a hill. It is believed to be created by Lord Rama for Hanuman after he set Sri Lanka on Fire. Near this river, there are footprints that are believed to be of Lord Hanuman. People consider these footprints as sacred and worship them.

8. Nashik

Kalaram Temple in Nashik, Maharashtra is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple has its links with various events from the Ramayana and attracts many devotees. There are believed to be footprints of the deity that people consider as sacred. It is another remarkable site for people who worship Lord Hanuman and Rama.

9. Himachal Pradesh

In Anjani Mahadev Temple located in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman’s mother, Anjani. It is another site known for the sacred footprints of the deity. These footprints are worshipped by visitors and denote physical presence of the deity that will protect people. It holds religious importance and is visited by many pilgrims.

10. Uttarakhand

Hanuman Chatti is a place in Yamunotri, Uttarakhand and is known for its religious significance linked to Ramayana. The site is said to be visited by the deity during his search for Sita. As per the legends, there are footprints of the deity in this place and are worshipped by pilgrims travelling to Yamunotri.
