The most celebrated music composer and singer A.R. Rahman needs no introduction. He started his own musical studio in the 1980s and bagged the Academy Award for best soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire in 2008. His songs are indeed marvellous. Today, we will be looking back at some of his best works over the years.
1. URVASI URVASI
Letās not forget that he also composed Tamil Songs. āUrvasi Urvasiā is one of the most famous tamil soulful songs which became a chartbuster in contemporary Tamil music. The immense popularity of this song lead to the dubbed versions in Hindi.
2. DIL SE RE
āDil Se Reāā a song from the movie DIL SEā¦ is composed by A.R. Rahman, penned by Gulzar and sung by A.R. Rahman, Anuradha Sriram and Anupama in chorus. This song is an absolute favourite. The kind of energy this song produce is unthinkable. This masterpiece not only got the 1999 Filmfare Award for The Best Music Director but was also awarded International Viewerās Choice Award. 3. JAI HO

Sung by S.P. Balsubrahmanyam and Sujatha and obviously composed by A.R. Rahman āRoja Jaanemanā is an amazing song which will never get old.Old is Gold. The soothing music is enough to make anyone fall in love with the music he creates. Rahman here proves that he can create magic without using heavy instruments. Listen to it.
7. CHOTTI SI ASHA
From the movie ROJA this soundtrack won numerous prizes when released and was honored by TIME MAGAZINE in 2005 as one of the best soundtracks of all time.This song is quite inspiring. Thanks to Minminās soulful voice and Rahmanās brilliant composition.
8. CHAIYYA CHAIYYA
Does this song needs any introduction? Sung by Sapna Awasthi and Sukhwinder Singh this song is enjoyed by all the generations. The Tamil version of this song is āThaiyaa Thaiyaaā. According to the BBC, people from 155 countries voted ā chaiyya chaiyyaā ninth in the top 10 songs. Isnāt this Great?
9. ROOBAROO
This song by A.R. Rahman and Naresh Iyer bagged IFFA Award for Best Male Playback Singer. This song will make anyone recall their best youthful days and holds a special place in our hearts. So,letās relive the moment.
10. RANG DE BASANTI
Packed with Daler Mehndi and K.S. Chithraās voice and composed by none other than the God of music A.R. Rahman, this song takes music on another level. The music provides a positive energy to anyone who listens to it.
11. MAA TUJHE SALAM
A.R. Rahmanās voice is so powerful that it still gives you goosebumps when you hear it. This has won the International Viewerās Choice For MTV India. This song is enough to arouse the patriotism in you.
12. REHNA TU

13. TERE BINA
The soundtrack from 2007 Guru is an all time favourite song. This is a love ballad composed in Sufi style of music. Surely, Rahman knows how to mix all kinds of music to create magic in the hearts of the audience.

A.R. Rahman, Javed Ali and Mohit Chauhan created an astounding song. The track won the Mirchi Music Awards for Song Representing Sufi Tradition. With the lyrics touching your soul,this song of A.R. Rahman can never grow old.

Another outstanding creation by him is so loved by youths today. The music and the lyrics will sooth your heart.

It is an outstanding writing and for me the most favourite songs are Tere Bina and Kehna hi Kiya these are most soothing songs and Maahi Be adds to the list as well because of the lyrics.
