The series shows the sweet little moments in their everyday life and their routine includes, getting ready for work, binge-watching series, and the likes. They are a couple in their 20s, who go through several ups and downs in life. Little Things, as the name suggests, portrays the little, but equally important aspects of everyday life. The non-dramatic realism in the series makes it stand out and lovable. There are 2 seasons of the series up-to-date. Season1 was featured on YouTube in 2016 with 5 episodes on the channel DiceMedia. Leila featuring Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, Rahul Khanna is a web series based on Prayaag Akbar’s 2017 novel of the same name. The series revolves around Shalini, who tries to find her missing daughter in a totalitarian Hindu state called Aryavasta. Leila begins in 2047, a century after independence and the totalitarian state is divided according to their caste, religion, and income. Shalini tries to track down her daughter Leila, who went missing the day her husband Riz was murdered in the name of caste. The series portrays India in its near future. The series premiered on 14th June 2019 and contains 6 episodes so far.
4. Delhi Crime
Delhi Crime featuring Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal, is based on the 2012 Nirbhaya case. The series shows the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case and the investigation in search of the culprits under DCP Vartika Chaturvedi. The 2012 gang rape case cemented the country’s reputation as the ‘Rape Capital of the World”. The Nirbhaya case was undoubtedly the most shocking assault the world had ever witnessed. The series shows how all six culprits were caught within five days and the series humanizes the police department. The series does not give much information about the victim, her personal side, hopes, aspirations and how her family went through it. The series is told from the perspective of the police. The series is dark and lacks light moments. There is only 1 season with 7 episodes.
5. Selection Day
Selection day featuring Mohammad Samad, Yash Shashank Dholye, Rajesh Tailang is based on Aravind Adiga’s 2016 novel of the same name. It is the story which revolves around two teens, Radha and Manju, who struggle against their overbearing father and finds that the game is not as pure as they thought. The story depicts the mild-intensity rivalry the boys have against an affluent boy, Javed. The story shows the barriers that they have to go through, like, rich-poor, urban-rural, English-Hindi and personal space-paternal oppression. Selection Day has not been able to live up to the expectations of the viewers. The series was premiered on 28th December 2018 and has 12 episodes in it.
Ghoul featuring Radhika Apte, Manav Kaul, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee is a horror thriller. The story is set in the near future, where India becomes a totalitarian regime. Nida Rahim is a newly recruited military officer who is loyal to the totalitarian regime and is ready to prove it to them by any means. She is sent to a remote military interrogation center where she interrogates Al Saeed, the leader of a big rebel organization. The terrorist, however, exhibits eerie behavior and starts exposing the most shameful secrets of the officers. Nida ultimately comes to the conclusion that a ghoul is inhabiting Saeed and learns alarming truth about what its presence revealed. The series was premiered on 24th August 2018 and consists of 3 episodes.
7. Yeh Meri Family
Yeh Meri Family featuring Vishesh Bansal, Mona Singh, Akarsh Khurana is the story that revolves around 12- year old Harshu. Harshu is the middle child of the family who is trying to balance school, family, friendship and other challenges in his life. The series is set in the summer of 1998 and showcases the difference in environment 10 years back. The show is loved by many due to the fact that it shows their childhood which was full of fun, games, and friendships. The series was premiered on 12th July 2018 and has 7 episodes.
Powder featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Manish Choudhary, Geetika Tyagi is the story of two friends who grew up together, but went separate paths. Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians is a document series of the 2019 Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians followed throughout the league. The series presents the emotional journey of the team throughout the season. The series contains the profiles of the players, staff, owners and the intense cricket action. Baahubali: Before the Beginning is an upcoming series featuring Mrunal Thakur and Atul Kulkarni. The series is based on Anand Neelakantan’s 2017 novel ‘The Rise of Sivagami’. The book is set 50 years before the first event on the first film and 75 years before the second film. The book is the story of Sivagami, a strong-willed woman who is ruthless in decision making. She is portrayed as a girl from humble beginnings, with a thirst for revenge against Mahishmati. She was orphaned when her father died at the hands of Mahishmati and she sets out to find the truth behind her father’s death and seek revenge. Sivagami is portrayed as a headstrong, determined and loyal girl, who later rules Mahishmati. The film was an instant hit and was one of the most expensive film of Bollywood. The book received mixed reviews and in the case of the series, we have to wait. The series is to be released by the year 2021.
